Hi,
I am using opensuse 10.3 and in the old days, I used to install TeXLiVe from opensuse software management without any problem but I just tried to install TeXLiVe 2007 from a DVD on a new computer. By default, TeXLive2007 copied all files to /usr/local/texlive/

and then I opended a shell and put the path as

>
PATH=/usr/local/texlive/2007/bin/i386-linux:$PATH

and then wrote

>texconfig paper a4
>fmtutil-sys --all

Ok at this stage if I say
>latex
for example it knows the command but if I close the terminal and then open a new one or let's say if I restart the computer and open a terminal and say >latex
then it does not know what >latex means.

So what can I do so that the terminal always knows the commands without eachtime me giving the path?

Thanks

--
PSTricks
http://pstricks.wordpress.com/
