Many of them are map files (essentially what we ask for for Lucida),
and there are also many .tex, .dtx, and other files in /doc/ folders,
so often used in documentation.
AdobeSong (for example, there are many more):
texmf-dist/tex/latex/ctex/fontset/ctex-fontset-adobe.def:
\setCJKmainfont { AdobeSongStd-Light.otf }
texmf-dist/doc/fonts/japanese-otf/doc/test/uplatex/utfmacro-kozuka.map:otf-ucmr-h
UniGB-UTF16-H AdobeSongStd-Light.otf
texmf-dist/fonts/map/dvipdfmx/ptex-fontmaps/adobe/otf-sc-adobe.map:otf-ccml-h
Identity-H AdobeSongStd-Light.otf
Sabon (also many more):
texmf-dist/fonts/map/fontname/adobe.map:psbr8a Sabon-Roman
A 088 sar_____
texmf-dist/fonts/map/fontname/linotype.map:l_____ Sabon-Roman
514.0
Optima:
texmf-dist/fonts/map/fontname/adobe.map:popr8a Optima
A 006 op______
texmf-dist/source/latex/fontspec/fontspec-doc-featset.tex:\setmainfont{Optima.ttc}{
GillSans:
texmf-dist/fonts/map/fontname/adobe.map:pgsr8a GillSans
A 152 gn______
This one seems to include several "setups" of commercial fonts:
texmf-dist/tex/latex/typeface/typeface.cfg
The ./texmf-dist/fonts/map/fontname/yandy.map even has Lucida mappings.

I am not into licenses, but I really do not see why, with any
definition, it is OK to have the yandy.map file, but not
type-imp-lucida.mkiv or lucida-math.lfg.
