Here is the cron job command that I use to create the pretest mirror
at Utah from the master in central Germany:

	% crontab -l
	# m h  dom mon dow   command
	11,41 00-23 * * * rsync -va --delete rsync://rsync.tug.org/texlive/tlpretest/. /u/ftp/pub/texlive/tlpretest/.

The mirror logs show that half-hourly updates is likely excessive:
every 3 to 6 hours would likely be acceptable.
