[pretest] \pdffakespace inserts a real space

The new build of today seems to have handled most pdftex problems.
But now (or perhaps this was already the case earlier) \pdffakespace
inserts a real space, and if one uses it as in the example from the
documentation one gets two spaces:

\documentclass{article}

\begin{document}
a\pdffakespace a

a a \pdffakespace a
\end{document}
