Pause and resume TeX Live install

I've been running install-tl for the pretest for over 1.5 hours now, and the estimated remaining time is almost 6 hours hours:
Installing [1359/4813, time/total: 01:45:02/05:53:20]: embrac [458k]
Problem is, I've got to vacate the premisses (my office) in about 2.5 hours. Meaning closing the lid of my laptop, losing network connection etc. Surely the installation will break.
So I was wondering, is it possible to pause the installation and resume later, without having to restart from scratch and re-download everything?
There's nothing (that I could find) about this at
https://tug.org/texlive/doc/install-tl.html
Seven years ago Norbert said on StackExchange this was not currently possible

Has the situation changed? Or will the installer, when restarted, automatically find what's downloaded already and only look for the rest?
rsync is not an option either, as it's disabled over the French university network, I can only do it from home.
