Sorry Zdenek, that somebody wrote this about non-French speakers. How unnecessarily rude!

I am French myself, one of the contributors to MacTeX alongside Dick Koch, Adam Maxwell and Herb Schulz (Dick and Adam doing all the technical hard work). I wouldn't consider posting here in any language other than English. (I know French, of course, English thanks in part to living 2.5 years in Cambridge UK, and German which unfortunately I stopped practicing after high school, that's 43 years ago, so I've forgotten almost everything. No other language.)

It amazes me how out of proportion this thread has become. I assume the original poster (who did not post anything after his original message) just sent the message to the wrong list, having intended it for some French-speaking TeX list.

As to the content of the original message, it was essentially:

Installing texlive, I reached a stage where the installation came to a halt. I terminated it by pressing the Return key for a certain time.

As to the blurb at the beginning of the screenshot, I don't know how the TeX Live install script spells things out in English (I use the MacTeX install package, mostly), but that's more or less (with very odd capitalization):

Wish=unknown/installed/suppressed/purged/H=to keep
| State= no/installed/config-file/unpacked/config-failure/H=semi-installed/W=wait-treatment-triggers
|/ Err?=(none)/need Reinstall (State,Err: uppercase=wrong)
   
Anyway, we'll get soon other exciting things to devote our attention to. Waiting for the pretest to start.
