Failure updating TL2025 after its installation on macOS legacy

I have an old MacBook Pro from 2010 at work, which I think is stuck at High Sierra. I'll get it and, assuming it still boots and time allowing, see what happens with using the x86_64-darwinlegacy luajithbtex binary and building it.

In the meantime, several configure scripts in the TL sources seem to have a --disable-thread-safe switch. I don't know whether that would help -- or what the consequences would be, security-wise.
