# Context:
- Linux (Mageia 7).
- Install as ordinary user through the command line:
  ┌────
  │ ./install-tl
  └────
  with:
  - basic scheme (s d r RET),
  - main TeX directory /home/bitouze/texlive/2020 (d
    1 /home/bitouze/texlive/2020 r RET),
  - options customization → create symlinks in standard directories
    with:
    - New value for binary directory: /home/bitouze/bin
    - New value for man directory: /home/bitouze/man
    - New value for info directory: /home/bitouze/info
    (o l /home/bitouze/bin RET RET RET)
  - r i RET

# Issue
Everything went well but, when trying to remove this install with
`tlmgr -gui &` then Actions → Remove TeX Live 2020 → OK, the pop-up
window with "Complete removal finished" appears but the console
displays:
  ┌────
│ tlmgr: saving backups to /home/bitouze/texlive/2020/tlpkg/backups
  │ tlmgr: no packages removed.
  └────
and, indeed, nothing has been uninstalled/removed.

By contrast, `tlmgr remove --all` worked as expected since everything
was removed: symlinks and (almost) /home/bitouze/texlive/2020 content
(surprisingly, two files `install-tl` and `texmfcnf.lua` are still
there).
