Update which packages? the gentoo ones or the TUG TL ones?  And which TL TUG version are you using

How you you normally use the TUG TL installation?

I have gentoo's TL packages already installed, the last of which are from 2017. These are the new versions. I installed the TUG TL into a local subdirectory in the interim.

So the system already has a system install of TL, and these are my attempt to update the packages.
