[tex-live] TLU update fails (non-corporate MacOS machine)

The only way that preference key would be set (and thus the log
message) is if you checked the box on the alert.

Hack TLCrypto.pm or TLU yourself.

That shouldn't work. I remove /usr/local/bin from TLU's PATH
since too many users installed things that broke TLU or tlmgr.

If you don't see the alert, it suggests that you already installed 
the tlgpg package, which installs to the TL tree. Try

tlmgr show tlgpg

which is how I check for it.
