[tex-live] Strange tlmgr output today

Just now I rsynced to update my local copy of the entire tlnet repository.
 Then I did `tlmgr update --list` as usual to see if any of my actually
installed packages needed to be updated.  But I got some weird output,
involving the word "keep":

$ tlmgr update --list
tlmgr: package repository /stuff/texstuff/tlnet (verified)
tlmgr: saving backups to /stuff/texstuff/tlbax
keep:     l3experimental           : local:    46720, source:    46085

I've never seen anything like this before.  What's going on, and what will
make this output go away?

I tried `tlmgr update --all`, but as it said, there were no updates
available.  Subsequent invocations of `tlmgr update --list` keep producing
this odd output.
