But that would change semantics on Unix file systems, right?
I know that within TL we check whether there are case clashes, but
we don't know what users are doing.
Lots of work I guess, but maybe one needs to check for each TEXMF tree
referenced whether the underlying FS is case-sensitive or not
(creating a lowercase file and check for uppercase existence),
and then do file searches sensitive according to the location of each
tree.
Not that I want to implement that, though :-(
