[tex-live] texinfo not happy with texlive not producing log?

I haven't looked at this for a while, and will check it later to see whether it's improved since, but when I first built my profiles I found that this correspondance was only implicit and undocumented. I had to build my profile by trial and error, ultimately.

A simple reference of syntax and supported statements would be appropriate.
