Thanks, indeed. I can easily remove the 'die' there, but then an already
present updmap.cfg in $HOME/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg will be overwritten,
not necessarily the best approach.

What do you suggest here? Not generating any updmap.cfg? I don't want
to parse a local updmap.cfg, though.

Maybe remove the die and add a clear warning in the docs that a local
updmap.cfg will be overwritten?
