Ahh,indeed.

You could try to edit TLUtils.pm, search for 
	sub gpg_verify_signature {
and below that change the
	run_cmd("$::gpg ...
to
	run_cmd("\"$::gpg\" ...
the otherg args are already quoted, but not the prog itself.
