>From what I can tell, they all failed at dvi parsing, so I'd guess
that the xdv file generated has already failed. Were you getting the
same error on Snow Leopard before my changes? (Say, with the earlier
pretest binaries)

If so, you can send me the xdv file generated, I will see if I can
reproduce that.
