I apologize for submitting this so close to the wire.  I've had some
updates to xpdfopen sitting around for a while but they have never
gotten high enough in the priority list until now.

I will submit my updated to CTAN asap, but you can get the new version
at
        http://cs.acadiau.ca/~jdiamond/xpdfopen-0.84.tar.gz

This version adds the ability to specify an initial page to display
when the PDF file is first opened.
