Hi folks,

When updating my 2014 texlive I got the following error:

running fmtutil-sys --no-error-if-no-engine=luajittex --byfmt xelollipop ...

fmtutil-sys --no-error-if-no-engine=luajittex --byfmt xelollipop failed (status 1), output:
fmtutil: running `xetex -ini -jobname=xelollipop -progname=xelollipop -etex xelollipop.ini' ...
xetex: error while loading shared libraries: libfontconfig.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Error: `xetex -ini -jobname=xelollipop -progname=xelollipop -etex xelollipop.ini' failed

Visit the log files in directory
  /usr/local/texlive/2014/texmf-var/web2c
for details.

This is a summary of all `failed' messages:
`xetex -ini -jobname=xelollipop -progname=xelollipop -etex xelollipop.ini' failed

tlmgr: exiting unsuccessfully (status 1).

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfontconfig.so.1 is included in a package
called libfontconfig1 on debian (which I am using). After installing I
could run the command failing beforehand.
My question now is: Is there any procedure which can I use to fix the
aborted update process? From the perspective of an user I don't know
what to do after fixing the problem?

Another question is: libfontconfig.so.1 is not perse installed on every
system. On another machine it's installed because one extra-installed
browser depends on this package. So, how texlive/xetex depend on it?

regards,
Sebastian
