I have the same problem,when I install texlive 2012 on Ubuntu 12.04-32bit.Later,
I search the Internet, but find nothing about this problem. Ocassionaly, I
checked md5 and sha256 of the texlive2012-20120701.iso, and found they are
different from the offical. So I downloaded the texlive2012-20120701.iso once
more. This time the md5 and sha256 are right, and I successfully install it on
Ubuntu. You can check the md5 and sha256 of the file you downloaded, and download
the correct one.Maybe this can solve you problem.
