I've put the lua module file under scripts in a texmf tree and kpsewhich finds it. But texlua doesn't find it and doesn't list any texmf trees in its search path. But I see that the lua variable package.path can be set inside a lua script so I guess that can be used to add a texmf path. Bob T.
