[tex-live] serious bug in dvipdfmx

I just ran pdflatex on Solaris 10 SPARC from my TeX Live 2012 builds
on Werner's KS.tex file, and got a PDF that appears visually identical
to that of his posted KS.pdf file.

I then did the same experiment with the original TeX Live 2011
distribution, and again got correct output.

Then, with the 2011 distro, I ran

	latex ks-2011.tex
	dvipdfmx ks-2011.dvi
	xpdf ks-2011.pdf

and got overlapping characters in lines 2 and 3.

Finally, I repeated the experiment with the new 2012 build, and got
the same overlapping mess.

Thus, I can confirm at my site that

	pdflatex + xpdf \neq latex + dvipdfmx + xpdf

for both 2011 and 2012 TeX Live for Werner's test file, even though
identical output is expected for both routes from TeX to PDF.
