Right. That's why I will take the chance to experiment when I have the
time to install Debian on the G5.

Though I read about /boot before performing my present partition scheme,
I decided only to have /, /home and swap. My /home survived my going 
from Linux Mint Debian Edition (beyond my capacity), to Ubuntu 11.10 to 
Linux Mint 12.
