Norbert, didn't you compile tlptexlive binaries on a different (and
newer) system than Peter's 2011 x86_64-linux binaries?

Karen sent me her "bad" binary too, and it is 831400 bytes (from
tlptexlive?), while Peter's canonical binary is 806424 bytes.

Karen, if you feel like it, you could try the 806424-byte binary from
http://tug.org/svn/texlive/trunk/Master/bin/x86_64-linux/dvipdfmx?view=co

I rashly predict that it will work on your system, and furthermore that
it is what Zdenek is using.  It is what was distributed with TL 2011.
