[tex-live] install fails on solaris x64 & i386

The x86_64-solaris binaries are built for a newer version of the os than
you have.

As (laconically) mentioned at http://tug.org/texlive/bugs.html, you can
get alternate binaries from
http://www.math.fsu.edu/~ealdrov/texlive/2011/

    I tried removing the included
    tlpkg/installer/xz/xzdec.x86_64-solaris binary and adding a symlink
    to a local, working version of xz, but that results in this:

You have to symlink xzdec and tar as well as xz.  Also, that would only
get you through instalation, the actual tex programs would still fail.
