[tex-live] how to check out version X of package Y from SVN?

Dear list,

I would like to "check out" some specific package from TeX Live
repository (I need all files from a package, with TDS structure).

Of course I can take texlive.tlpdb, parse it and check out every file
that is listed there, but I'm sure that there already exists some
script in TeX Live that is able to do that. I would also like to be
able to check out from some particular revision of SVN repository if
possible, but that is much less important.

Any hints are welcome. (As I said, I can always create my own scripts
that parses texlive.tlpdb, but if there is a cleaner way, I would like
to use that one.)
