Hello,
as you might know, there are several issues related to the --output-directory option. To reduce the complexity a bit, I wrote a tiny test script that tests all engines whether the recorder and SyncTeX work as expected. To summarize the remaining problems (on my system):
- All engines write file names relative to the current instead of the output directory to the SyncTeX file (http://tracker.luatex.org/view.php?id=534)
- All engines except LuaTeX 0.71 (rev. 4241) write the recorder file to the current instead of the output directory (http://tracker.luatex.org/view.php?id=615)
- All engines except LuaTeX write the *.synctex(busy) file to the current instead of the output directory (http://tracker.luatex.org/view.php?id=597)
