    I find this slightly weird:

I assume you're referring to the 0.60.1.  If so, that is not weird.  The
information comes from the Catalogue.  If you want to check that info,
see http://ctan.org/pkg/luatex (or your favorite other Catalogue url).
If you want to update it, email ctan at dante.de.  It's that "simple".

    Shouldn't the version of binaries be written to tlpsrc?

No, I have no intention of creating another place to be updated and get
out of sync.  It is not that important.

    Even more weird is that lualibs displays the same SVN revision for
    local and remote, but version 0.96 for local and 0.95 for remote.

If I'm guessing correctly at your situation, again, it is not weird.  It
is a consequence of what we have stated before -- when the Catalogue
info is *all* that changes (i.e., no changes to the actual files), we do
not force regeneration of the TL package, and all consequent
mirrors/downloads.If you look at the texlive.tlpdb in our svn, it has
0.96.

This recurring confusion/skew made me leery of including any version
numbers in the first place.  Anyway.
