Dear Akira,
the message "running Metafont for larm1200" is printed by dvisvgm and
expected during the first conversion of the .tex file if larm1200 is
only available as MF source. In this case dvisvgm runs Metafont to
generate a .gf file. You should be able to enforce it by adding option
-a1, except the default messages have been patched in some way.
However, I can't reproduce the segfault on my system either.
