Yes, we know very well.

Please provide an extension of the perl script we are using to use
all updmap.cfg files ... it is open source (while miktex's updmap
is C program AFAIR and the source code is not available).

We know very well the limitations, but in contrast to MikTeX we had
and have to deal with much more things due to support of many 
architectures.

Don't compare apple with oranges, and those who wish for better support
o multiple updmap.cfg file, use the source, luke, we are open to
patches!
