Exactly.  "And others" (persons, not things).  "Etc." is for things.

Confused : which file ?  Your previous message said "first of all,
do you have texlive-docindex installed ?", and we seem to have
established that I have, so this must mean that I have
texmf/scripts/texlive/var/texcatalogue.keywords if texlive-docindex
contains this file as your earlier message asserted.  And
indeed I do.
