[tex-live] Location of Lua binary extension modules

Hello,

the stock texmf.cnf contains the following line for Lua extension modules:

% Lua needs to look for binary lua libraries distributed with packages.
CLUAINPUTS = .;$SELFAUTOLOC/lib/{$progname,$engine,}/lua//

$SELFAUTOLOC is the directory where the binaries are located. Have you considered amending this setting so that the search path includes the standard TEXMF trees? It seems to be the only search path that is outside the standard TDS hierarchies.

There is also something weird going on with the kpsewhich interface concerning Lua extension modules: kpsewhich -show-path clua does not show the expanded value of CLUAINPUTS.
