[tex-live] Missing "ppc" symbolic link in .FactoryDefaults/gwTeX-2003-2005 ?

Hello Richard,

here is what I just did.

1. I changed the name of the file /usr/texbin to be /usr/temptexbin

2. I went to my System Preferences: TeX distributions,
(the selected distribution is TeXlive-2010)

immediately some error message pops up (in French)
and tells me some link is broken and proposes to fix it. I say Ok,
and then the Control Panel tells me that the problem has been
fixed and that my TeX should be functional

3. so I go to look again at my /usr repertory and it contains now
   lrwxr-xr-x    1 root  wheel     62 18 Dec 18:23 texbin ->
../Library/TeX/Distributions/.DefaultTeX/Cont\
ents/Programs/ppc

in addition to the one I had renamed
  lrwxr-xr-x    1 root  wheel     62 18 Dec 11:57 temptexbin ->
../Library/TeX/Distributions/.DefaultTeX/\
Contents/Programs/ppc
which is still there of course (I would have been very very surprised
if this one had disappeared...)

My system is Mac OS X 10.3.9, iBook G4

When I read your detailed previous message (thanks!) at first I thought
I should have
replaced texbin to point to powerppc, rather than adding a "ppc" to
.FactoryDefaults/gwTeX-2003-2005

but if the TeX Distributions Control Panel does create "ppc" links,
then I think I did the correct thing

I hope the information I am sending can somehow give you a hint to what
is happening,
if there is any special thing you would like me to check on my system
please tell me

best regards
Jean-Francois
