Since we're clearly converging on agreement, I would
not want to pursue this one unnecessarily, but I do
most genuinely believe that /most/ TeX users are
blissfully unaware of RCS (or believe it stands
for Residence and Catering Services, as it does
at my former college), CVS (presumably a place
for curricula vitae) and as for "Git", well --
a little exposure to Steptoe and Son [1] would
provide many many examples of what that word means
to many of us :-)

Arry:

No offence mate, I got an old git like that at ome me self.

Harold:

Excuse me; he is not an old git. (thinks about it) Well actually
he is an old git, ha, ha. Please, I am Harold Steptoe (shaking his hand)
and my father is Albert. Albert Steptoe and this is.......(looks around)
one of our depots. Like he said we deal in Antiques, works of art, fine
porcelain, plus occasionally the odd Rag and Bone. We pays a very fair
price.
