Right. I wrongly assumed that I knew how the parsing was mainly made.
The misleading bit is that when defining some token to be equal to \par,
using it instead of \par rules out this behaviour.

With all due respect, his tone wasn't helping, first, and second, he
didn't reply at my points, but what he /thought/ were my points. And
that's all the more sad knowing that he is indeed an important guy.
