Bummer. Interestingly they were build on different machines. The 2008
binaries is (was) an old EV something with Debian/woody on it. The new
one is a SimulateLCA4 with Debian 4.0 on it.

No idea what has happened here. Do you have $HOME on some strange file
system that lstat-ing does not succeed?
Sorry, I built the binaries but I have no idea what that could be.
I can try some patches, but not before the weekend, I am moving tomorrow
to Japan.
