Apparently it's to to with "Simple File Sharing":

I always turn that off, so of course I'm used to things "a certain way".
I imagine it might also disappear in a domain senario.

However, I guess cacls works well despite this, so it's not too much of
an issue (calcs is probably easier to explain here than the graphic
approach in any case).
