I never said that. They are needed for Vista and W7.

Then I can only imagine ...


HOW did you rsync, did you use the 
	-a
switch or at least the -p and -E switches (instead of -a)?

Otherwise the files will somehow have strange permissions.

Retry to sync with 
	rsync -avz .....
