Hello list,

I just discovered that on my recent debian lenny workstation the compilation of any TeX file (either tex->pdf or tex->dvi) takes about ~20-30 seconds.

I am really curious on what to look at since even when trying to compile it manually on a console (I used kile before) it takes ages.

As an example I just took the wikipedia LaTeX examle pasted here:
http://paste.debian.net/31250/

The output of the pdflatex compilation is pasted here:
http://paste.debian.net/31251/

At line 17 the '/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/base/size12.clo' call takes most of the time atleast the output stops there for quite a while.

Since I do not see any particular problem in the compilation log I am really lost.

Any ideas?

regards,
Patrick
