Here is the original message, and I think /etc/libmap.conf might help.

TL 08 on FreeBSD 7 and CURRENT are fine.
CURRENT used to have a compilation problem, but it is fixed in the svn
trunk by me.
Maybe because it is built on a new version of BSD,
for now, I suggest you to try to remap the lib versions (in
/etc/libmap.conf) to see whether it works.
