[tex-live] Including MiKTeX tree in TeXLive tree

Hi,

I am working with Ubuntu Jaunty, TeXLive 2007 and MiKTeX Tools 2.8beta2-1.

when I compile with
pdflatex myfile.tex
the packages installed by MiKTeX Tools in /home/me/miktex-texmf are not
found, while they are found if I give
sudo miktex-pdftex --undump=pdflatex myfile.tex
(this is the command to invoke the MiKTeX Tools engine)

My question:
How do I tell TeXLive that it has to look in the MiKTeX tree for the .sty,
not only in usr/share/texmf-texlive?

Is there somewhere an editable list of locations where TeXLive has to look
in?
