No, that wont happen.

We do NOT keep two branches of development, it is already too much work.

TL08 is frozen, forever. Period.

>From TL09 on we *HOPE* (!!!!! no guarantee) that we can provide direct
upgrades from TL09 to TL10 using tlmgr.
