[tex-live] texlive-en.pdf (MacTeX 2008 distro)

I posted this on <news://comp.text.tex>, and someone suggested that I
send the message to the tex-live mailing list.

So here's my thought:

Would it be impractical to supply texlive-en.pdf formatted for A4 paper
as used by most of the world including me rather than the currently
supplied US letter formatting (21.6 x 27.9 cm paper size reported here
by my pdf viewer), as used only in the USA AFAIK[1]?

P.S.  I've re-sent this because it appeared not to get to the tex-live
mailing list first time around.  Difference is that I'm sending this
from the email address which I used to sign up to tex-live mailing list.
