[tex-live] Testing TeXLive 2009

Bonjour,

I have installed TeXLive 2009 on Mac OS 10.5.7 and I have a problem  
with the package paralist.
When I use \begin{enumerate}[1°], the output is " enumi ° ". But when  
I use \begin{enumerate}[a)], the output is correct.
I also have a problem with my texmf directory which is in the User  
Library. It seems that it is not recognized during the typesetting.
