the tex live list is for distribution development, not document
debugging; please use a list like texhax or the news group comp.text.tex

your problem comes from having typesetting commands (\author, \title,
\date, etc) before \begin{document}

move \begin{document} before those commands, and your document will
compile (or fail somewhere else).
