Hi, Question to the pdftex guys: I just noticed that \pdfstrcmp is not mentioned in pdftex-a.pdf, at least the version in TeX Live (dated 2007/01/05). Is our version outdated or do you want this primitive to remain secret ? :-) Thanks, Manuel.
