[tex-live] Problem with tlmgr online update behind proxy (SuSE 11.0)

I just installed TeXLive 2008 on one of the machines at work. Home machine under Windows XP is already upgraded. Great work! Thanks to all!

I installed from the 2008-08-22 DVD image. Everything went fine so far. Now I tried to update my TeXLive installation with the online update mechanism. Following problems occured:

- tlmgr gui starts the GUI, but then I cannot enter anything, just the selection of selection boxes and placing the cursor works. But I cannot edit anything. I assume this is a problem with Perl-TK? I use SuSE Linux 11.0, unfortunately there is no SuSE under http://tug.org/texlive/distro.html#perltk

- When I select default network location of archive under tlmgr gui I get the error that no packages can be found.

- text version doesn't work either

I substituted already http://mirror.ctan.... by a suitable mirror (under Windows I get the name resolution).

I assume that the online update does not work hast to do with our proxy. Under SuSE yast2 I've set proxy server inclusive user name and password. In addition, I have the following files

.wgetrc:
--proxy-user="sct2si1" --proxy-password="xxxxxxxx" --proxy="http://10.4.102.12:8080"

.curlrc:
Changed by YaST2 module proxy 08/01/08
--proxy-user "sct2si1:xxxxxxxx"
--proxy "http://10.4.102.12:8080"

Normal SuSE Online Update does work (i.e. proxy setting is correct), but I doesn't work with tlmgr. What can I do about it? Is there any environment variable for the tlmgr internal perl that I can set?
