I usually wouldn't bother you (plural) with a failed install, but seeing how recent TeX
Live 2008 is, I figured you might be interested.

I was trying to install TeX Live 2008 on my Quad G5 running Yellow Dog linux 6.
`./install-tl' seems to have a conniption about 64-bit PowerPC Linux, as the following
shows:

	[root at localhost install-tl]# ./install-tl -v
	TeXLive::TLUtils::setup_programs failed at tlpkg/TeXLive/TLUtils.pm line 1042.
	./tlpkg/installer/lzma/lzmadec.powerpc64-linux --help failed (status 32512): No
such file or directory
	Output is:
	Can't exec "./tlpkg/installer/lzma/lzmadec.powerpc64-linux": No such file or
directory at tlpkg/TeXLive/TLUtils.pm line 1045.
	Couldn't set up the necessary programs.
	Cannot continue with installation.
	Please report to texlive at tug.org.

I suspect that the same does not happen under OS X since neither Tiger nor Leopard truly
supports 64-bit PowerPC in the first place.

This snag aside, please convey my thanks to all who have kept TeX Live the definitive
resource for one-stop package installation for so long.
