How exactly did it fail? Did it give the same AR error box as launching
'texdoc minitoc' from the cl or did it fail ealier? Because according to
LuaTeX's reference manual, I suppose

os.spawn ("texlua", "texlua", "arg1", "arg2")

is actually a correct call which is more or less equivalent to

texlua arg1 arg2 on the command line

Yep, that's what I tried to and that made me think the problem may have
something to do with the wrappers.

I don't know yet. Anyway, I have to go now (should already be at work (I mean,
irl)) and will look a this more closely this envening/night.
