[tex-live] Mislocated epsdice files

The epsdice package in TL2008 can't find its dice.{eps,pdf} files.  For
example, the LaTeX file

     \documentclass{minimal}
     \usepackage{epsdice}
     \begin{document}
     \epsdice{6}
     \end{document}

dies with

     ! LaTeX Error: File `dice' not found.

The files are actually installed under texmf-dist/doc/latex/epsdice/, but
aren't found there by latex:

     $ kpsewhich -progname=latex dice.eps
     $
