[tex-live] texlive.tlpdb broken?

I'm trying to update a package, and tlmgr gives me some unusual errors:

Use of uninitialized value in split at /usr/local/texlive/2008basic/ 
tlpkg/TeXLive/TLPDB.pm line 864, <RETFH> line 210.

I looked at the texlive.tlpdb file on the CTAN mirror, and it seems to  
be listing only 3 or 4 packages. Was there a problem with the update  
last night?
